| Comments: | I have suffered with fibromyalgia for over 10 years. I was seen about 8 years ago by a rhuematologist who argued that I had Lupus. He could not prove it. 3 months ago I saw a diff. rhuematologist. He confirmed what I have known for years now. I have fibro. I am currently in a research study. Hope this works for me. Thanks for your info. I find it refreshing to read about others that have suffered what I have. Some of the symptoms I just thought were related to other problems such as migraines & stress. |

| Comments: | Hello Everyone. I was dx with MS about a year ago, then a year later with CFS/Fibromalgia. I have been sick for many years. I never could get a dx as to what the fatigue and chronic pain was, then it finally came in 2005, CFS/ Fibromalgia. I have lost 80% of what my life once was, and if I told you that I have not thought about ending it all I would be lying. Everyday I loose more of me, and wonder where " has Lindalynn gone" I also have Lyme Disease,I am fighting three diseases at once , and I am so very tired of it all. No cure for anything, so tired, so hopeless. I will know that I am dead when I am no longer hurting and no longer so tired that I can,t breath. So sorry about this vent, please forgive me. |

| Comments: | Hi Everyone,
I just needed to vent and knew this is the place where everyone will understand... After years of searching for a doc to treat me, both my disease and as if I were an adult of some intelligence...I found one... and then we moved. Now, I'm in a new community and looking for a doc. Why is it that medically trained people walk into a room, see an overweight middle aged woman and assume that we are lazy and lonely and looking for attention?..."you seem to have a variety of unrelated symptoms" "there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with you that a little exercise won't help (I do exercise!)." What is it with medical egos that they (the individual doctor) and only they can diagnose?....Why do they assume that the doc's treating you previously were idiots? AAARRRRRGGH! Ok, sorry. I feel better now. Sometimes sending it out into the universe isn't enough. Sometimes you just have to air frustration out with folks who have been there! so thanx for listening! |

I have had 3 surgeries on my right knee(including a total knee repacement) and I was no stranger to severe pain. I deal with my pain by keeping my hands busy. I crochet, knit and paint and these activities seem to help me get through the day. I just started to walk everyday and that seems to be helping also. My prayers are for restful sleep and pain-free days for all of us. |

I remember seeing my Mom suffer with the same symptoms most of my life, and last year my daughter was diagnoised as well. I hope one day to be skinny rich and good looking, however I would be happy to just be pain free. Have a great day! Brenda |

| Comments: | Hi, how refreshing to hear other peoples problems so that you know you are not alone in not having a dr who is understanding. I thought that when they did not know what was wrong with you they automatically called it fibro. I dont have the lack of energy and other problems, but I hurt all over with pressure points so sore that I cannot lie, stand, drive but will not give in to it because life is for living. I have a full time job as a self employed person and work 6 days a week, but today is the beast of all beasts. I hurt in places I did not know existed and anti-inflammatory drugs and pain killers are doing nothing. I dont have much yeast so do not think that is contributing to the pain. I feel that there are a lot of people who are worse off than me but some days I just want to give in completely, as I am sure many of you also feel like doing. We must all not let this get the better of us and hope that a cure can be found in our lifetime as of todate, they still dont know what has caused mine! sincere regards to you all and hope you get pain free. | Comments: | Hi everyone,
I'm Jamie. I have had fibromyalgia since I was 12. I'm 36 now. I'm sure many of you know what I was told at first. Being only 12, they told my mother that it was growing pains. By age 16 they started telling my mother that I was crazy and just wanted attention. Finally at the age of 23, people started recognizing Fibromyalgia and a rheumotologist diagnosed me. After several years of nothing that the doctors gave me or told me helping at all, I just learned to live with the pain and fatigue. I have to tell you that God has blessed me. I know what has caused my fibro and chronic fatigue. YEAST! Can you believe it. An abundance of yeast will cause your good flora (bacteria) to die and an overgrowth of Candida (yeast bacteria) will grow. The overgrowth of yeast in the gut will cause your immune system to fail. When your immune system fails you will get autoimmune diseases. Fibromyalgia and Chronic fatigue are both autoimmune diseases. Things such as antibiotics, sterioids, poor diet (too many carbs and sugars), birth control pills, and being pregnant are just a few things that can contribute to the production of yeast organisims in your intestinal tract. The amazing news is that I've found something that is helping me. It's called Xango. It a juice that is made from the mangosteen fruit. It has higher antioxidant properties than any other food on earth. I've been taking it for 2 months now and some of my fibro symptoms are improving. I don't get the real bad shooting pains that I've suffered with for so many years. It's a flippin' miracle. I can hardley believe it myself. I have decided to become a distributor, not to make money, but to let people with fibromyalgia know that it's out there. Log onto http://www.allxango.net/fibromyalgiahelp and see what you think. Feel free to e-mail me too. I have been doing alot of research and can tell you more about fibro than any doctor can. I work full time as a secretary and have two children at home, but I will try to relay any information that I've learned to you in my spare time. Normal-healthy people just can't understand how bad living with this really is. I understand completely, and I pray for all of you who are dealing with it. They sent me to many psycologists to only get the answer like this. "Oh, it's all in your head!" or "You are too young to be having these types of aches and pains!" Well, I was denied help with social security. I finally was diagnosed with fm late last year 2003. The pain is worse than ever and seems to be getting worse everyday. This site has made me aware of even other symptoms associated with fm that I did not know till reading some of the other stories from people. Thank you again! |

| Comments: | Hello...
My name is margaret, you can call me Peggy if you,d like. I have been suffering with all the symptoms of fm. for a very long time. I am still in the testing everything situation. So far everything is neg. exept I have nerve damage in my elbo and a hip of an 80-yr-old. I am 41. Dr. say i'm to young for a hip replacement. I say I may be 41, but my hip is 80! About 11 years ago, I went to a Dr. for this cronic pain. I had mri's,bloodwork, and those electrical nerve tests (ouch). The Dr. didn't find any thing. So he diagnosed me with fibromyalgia. I asked him what fm was and he told me that it was a condition that mothers get when they don't want to work. Well excuse me! I switched Dr.s in a heartbeat. I have swiched Dr.s so many times, I can't remember who they all are. I am now seeing a social worker through family services. Yesterday she replied to me that perhaps I have fibromyalgia. She said that maybe that's what's causing me to be severly depressed, suicidal sometimes, and all of my unexplainable pain. I said I don't know. I'm still waiting on more test results. She then told my to look fb up on the computer, so I did, and this is the first place I found that was free. It is much better to see the side of someone who is experiencing the same thing. Perhaps my Dr. was right 11 years ago. I haven't mentioned it to any of my Dr.s since him because I thought he was being sarcastic with me. I supose now I will mention it to my neurologist. I have been off work since the middle of july. This is about the fifth time I have been off work, and nobody believes I don't feel well. I have two teenagers. I took them to my SW with me the last time I went so my worker can explain to them what is wrong with me, so they can help me around the house. YA RIGHT! They got worse. Now they are telling me about there aches and pains and want to go to the Dr. all the time. When I begin believing them, I will take them. Who knows, maybe fm is hereditary. If anyone knows or can suggest a way to get my family to help, please e-mail me at mgtmendez@msn.com or mgtmendez@yahoo.com. Thank You Peg Mendez |

Like all of you, getting up every day, working, and sleeping is very painful. My neck, back, legs, arms, wrists, and my body hurts so bad at times that I think that I'm dying. Any suggestions on how I can get relief? I have found that ICY Hot helps for about 10 minutes when I rub it on my neck area. It doesn't help any place else. HELP@!!@!@! |

| Comments: | My Fibromylgia was officially diagnosed 14 years ago and the doctor who diagnosed it feels it was due to a hysterectomy at an early age.
Thank you for you web site information because no one ever told me that my panic attacks, memory blanks or word mix-ups could be in any way connected to Fibro. In fact when I told my physician that I had dry eyes, memory blaks, forgetfulness and panic attacks he felt it had nothing to do with the Fibro. Thank you, thank you |

| Comments: | Reading through these posts just breaks my heart. I was diagnosed with a form of lupus 12 years ago, and then added a diagnosis of fm last year. It seems sometimes that every single day is a struggle, but there are a few things that I have learned. First, if you have to change doctors 20 times, find one that listens to you! Sadly, many of them won't. Second, join a gym and go! Every time I let myself get out of shape, the disease gets worse and it's harder to do anything about it! You would be surprised how many trainers have worked with people with autoimmune problems and understand how limited you are. Even a few minutes a couple of times a week will help you. Strong muscles won't spasm as often and can support your joints better and it will decrease your pain. Get on the phone, call around and go! Yes, it hurts, but you know what? I hurt laying around just as much as I do if I get up. So I figure if I'm going to be miserable I may as well be miserable and productive. Truly though, you will find that if you do as much as you can do every day, the next day you will be able to do more. I certainly spend my share of days in bed with a book, but I find that if I can just get myself going I can do lots of things. As a matter of fact I just started my own business...
I know that I am either fortunate in suffering less severe symptoms, or just plain to darn stubborn to let this take away my joy in life. From experience I know that a positive attitude may seem to be the hardest thing, but it is absolutely everything! May God bless each of you. trish |

| Comments: | It was nice to find this site. I am a sufferer of fm. My symtoms include depression, cronic pain, veritgo, fatigue, confussion of memory. There are days I get out of bed just able to make it to the couch and lay back down. It all I can do to force myself to get up and go to the bathroom. I have lost so much during 2003, my job, a relationship I had for 13 years. My daughter graduated and is now working and going to college. I never get to see her so I feel I have lost her to. Most of my friends don't understand my condition. Sometimes the days are so bad that I feel I'm only here on earth just to take up space. I feel there is no place for me. I'm no good to anyone. This disease is hard for people that don't have it to understand. I used to be so active. I never could stand anything out of place. Now I just lay around and look at all the work I want to do and my body won't let me do it. I would be happy if someone would like to be a e-mail pen-pal with me. I pray for anyone with this disease. |

MY HUSBAND LEFT ME BECAUSE HE COULDN'T HANDLE THE DOCTORS AND ANY TREATMENT I HAD AND THE CONDITION. THE PAIN WHEN I GET UP THE PAIN WHEN I LAY DOWN THE DRAWING OF MY FEET THE SEIZURES OF MY MUSCLES. THERE IS A LOT OF DEPRESSION THAT GOES ALONE WITH THIS CONDITION. THE MORE STRESS YOU HAVE THE MORE YOUR FIBROMYALGEA HURTS.

I GO TO THE PAIN CLINIC AND GET MEDICATION FOR THIS BUT THEN I SURE CAN'T FUNCTION. SOMEONE HAS TO BE WITH ME 24 TO 48 HOURS. I TRUELY WISH ALL YOU PEOPLE SURVIVE THIS CONDITION. I WENT FROM VERY ACTIVE AND TWO JOBS A DAY, TO 584 A MONTH. OH, I DON'T MIND BEING BROKE IF I COULD GET SOME OF MY BILLS CAUGHT UP, PAID OFF OR JUST DOWN WHERE I COULD AFFORD THEM.(HA)IF ANYONE KNOWS OF FINANCIAL HELP. PLEASE LET ME KNOW. | Comments: | To all who suffer chronic pain/discomfort....
I myself have suffered since 1987. While reading excertps from the guest book I see many of us had mono when we were younger and have never returned to "normal" health wise. We also suffer a great deal at night.....for your consideration....seek out a sleep clinic. Have the studies performed. My husband suggested sleep apenea ( I thought he was nuts)only after I started snoring very loudly...evidently, I have had this condition all these years and was never dianosed properly. My 'tired all the time' was seen as depression and a host of other things. when my sleep study was performed it was than I found out I suffer from severe slleep apenea. I have been put on a machine to assist me at night. I have hope. Good luck to all of you. In Christ's Love I pray you find peace and well being. |

I have not been diagnosed with FMS but I'm pretty sure thats what I'm suffering from now.My treating physician seems to think that FMS is just a generic name for muscle pain and that it is not a legitamate diagnosis. He seems confused as to my current symptoms.I'm awake through the night with constant pain, stiffness in my neck, lower back and shoulders.I have always been a care-taker as well as a perfectionist when it comes to keeping my home clean...I can no longer clean one room without paying a painful price. If anyone can please give me anymore information about this decease I would appriciate it so much.God Bless all of you who are suffering and I pray that we can learn more about this and perhaps teach the people around us to be more compassionate.
The people in my life are use to me being there for them but some times I just can't do it anymore.I pray for strength and perserverence. |

I currently work full-time, but it is getting ever more difficult to stay sitting/standing for eight hours straight a day. | Comments: | I'm 37 raising 4 boys ages 14, 12, 10, 8. After having two ribs removed for thorasic outlet syndrome, I was diagnosed with fibro. That was 5 years ago, and I have new syptoms crop up every year. depression is my biggest issue to deal with because I am blessed to have the means to stay home and deal with the symptoms. My dream is to be able to go shopping all day like I once did to find new things for my home. We've lived here one year and I've only completed one room. My family understands, its the friends that tend to desert me. It's no fun being the friend of a fibro. We always seem to have to cancel at he last minute. Day by day with faith and God's help I live to see my children smile. Thanks for the sight. |

| Comments: | It's so sad to see that so many young people suffer from this unrelenting pain. I'm sure that I have had FM for many years. I have been diagnosed in June of 2002. I have been to doctors complaining with severe pelvic and back pain. Just sitting down was a job in itself because getting up was impossible. Oh' you're just getting old, was what I would here. I'm 52 now. What's going to happen when I really get old or sick. I have been treated for arthritis
because of my pain to elbows, knees, fingers, and every other joint in my body. I have one child, a daughter, whom I raised as a single parent. I am an assistant manager of a very large financial institution and my job is very demanding. Stress is everywhere, but as everyone else, I have to work. It takes me 1/2 hr. to get out of bed in the morning. At night, I just lie in bed waiting for the pain of the mattress on my skin to subside before I can turn over to fall asleep. When asleep I wake up screaming if I turn. I have been recently calling out to my mother for help. She has benn gone for 10 yrs. I ask her to ask God to help me. My daughter was married last year. I made sure I had a good time and decided to dance. I suffered for weeks afterward. I pray everynight to St Anthony. I will include all of you in my prayers that you may find releif and peace. |

| Comments: | Thanks for your website. I too have chronic fibromyalgia and have been struggling to handle this disease. It is an inspiration to see information such as you provided. I was always the "take care of everyone else" person. Now with this I can barely take care of myself but I forge ahead thanks to my faith in God. The hardest part for me is that my husband really doesn't understand the pain I'm in. Pray for me as I'll continue to pray for all with this disease!! |

| Comments: | I am an independent marketer for a company called Ideal Health International. I came across this site almost by accident and after reading a few of the posts I feel compelled to chime in on what I know about treating the symptoms of FM and chronic fatigue. I never heard of FM and CF until about 12 months ago. Since then, I have personally met or spoken to a number of people that have seen amazing turnarounds with their symptoms by taking a customized nutritional product called "custom essentials". There is an uncanny relationship between this customized product and FM/CF. Although there is no guarantee that this product will work for you as it did for others, it might be worth the chance. I can refer you to some of these people that will swear by it, such as a doctor in Pa. To obtain this product or any other product, you must go through an independent marketer. I would be happy to provide more information to anyone that desires to learn more about this company or it's products. Best wishes to all of you. Alec |

| Comments: | Hi-I am so relieved to have found this site. I live in Littleton, CO. I have been diagnosed with FM for 10 years.I also have interstitial cystitis and chronic fatigue. I went from being a competitive figure skater to someone who can hardly walk. I finally have found some relief with demerol and valium. But I still can't work (I was a skating coach) and I can skate for only about 20 minutes before intense pain. The hardest thing about this is that my precious daughter, who's only six years old, is suffering from the same three diseases. Watching a child in pain is about more than I can bear, knowing what lies ahead for her. She had been skating as well and now it's all she can do to go to school for the day. She is only in first grade! Yesterday she told me she wants to skate in the Olympics. My heart aches, knowing what it takes physically to get there. Please help is all I can think. I'm looking for a support group in our area. I haven't the heart to tell her about her FM and CF diagnosis. She only knows about her interstitial cystitis diagnosis. We call her FM body aches. She has watched me spiral downhill in her short life and asks me,"Mommy why don't you do your pretty jumps anymore?" I don't want her to feel helpless with knowing of her FM as she has seen me suffer so. I want her to feel "normal" as the interstitial cystitis is so debilitating already. Please let me know of any support groups you may know of in our area. Thanks soooooooo much for listening. It's nice to know I'm really not alone, the rest of my family cannot accept our being sick,it's quite a battle.

| Comments: | Thank you for your help and information. I'm having a terrible time with skin rashes, and I can't find any information to help me control the problem. The specialist that I see gave me steriods - it cured the problem. Seven days later my rash was back. I can't take steriods the rest of my life. Is anything out there that will help. |

| Comments: | Thank you for your comments I to have FMS and have struggled with it for several years. I have found that it to be a continual battle. Each year seems to bring on different symptoms and I have asked numerous doctors if this is going to keep getting worse and they say NO! But I really wonder since I know that I'm not able to do the same things I did even a year ago. Have you found this to be true in your own walk with FMS? I'm 48 years old and had back sugery at 40 when FMS came and raised it's ugly face.
Thank you for your web site and information. Susan Barber |

| Comments: | I have read quite a few comments in your pages. I have not been diagnosed with fibromyalgia but seem to have a lot of the symptoms. How do you go about finding out if you have this. Right now, my whole body is in pain. It hurts to sit down, back hurts, legs hurt, neck hurts, tired all the time, having problems remembering things, etc., Sometimes it makes me think that I am losing it. Is that a symptom also? I hate to complain about this, you know, people get tired of hearing someone complain all the time. Please, advise. I run a Bed and Breakfast and I need all the energy I can muster-up.
Waiting patiently, Linda Carr |
